Jesmonite AC100, AC84 and AC730: what's the difference and how to choose?

What is Jesmonite?

To sum up:
If you're a beginner, opt for Jesmonite AC100, perfect for decorative objects and jewelry. If you're looking for more flexibility and weather resistance, Jesmonite AC84 is an excellent compromise.
And for projects requiring maximum durability and a natural stone effect, Jesmonite AC730 is the best option.

Jesmonite AC100: the ideal option for beginners

Jesmonite AC100 is the most popular version for designers new to molding. It's easy to handle, with a fast drying time of 30 minutes, enabling rapid demolding.
It's ideal for decorative objects, jewelry, accessories or small-scale casting. The downside is that it's not weather-resistant, so you'll need to add a protective cover for outdoor use.

On our site, you'll find ideas for creations with the latter: earrings, a soap dish or even a shell dish.

Jesmonite AC84: the new generation with greater flexibility and resistance

Unlike Jesmonite AC730, which takes 4 hours to dry, Jesmonite AC84 is ready for demolding in just 2 hours. However, it remains slightly slower than AC100, which dries in 30 minutes. Designed to last, it withstands temperature variations, humidity and exposure to sunlight.
It's an ideal choice for outdoor creations that need to maintain their appearance and strength over time. Thanks to pigments, you can fully customize the shade of your creations. You can play with vivid colors or opt for more subtle shades for a natural look.
The AC84 lets you choose the finish of your creations according to your style and desired effect:
? A smooth finish for a sleek, modern look.
? A concrete-effect finish (acid treatment) for a rough, textured look, ideal for objects with a natural, authentic look.
Jesmonite A84 is weather-resistant but can be sealed with Jesmonite sealers: Satin for a matte finish or Gloss for a glossy finish. It is preferable to use sealers rather than varnishes, as they are much more powerful and offer better protection.

Jesmonite AC730: for durable, robust creations

Ideal for outdoor creations, AC730 will not deteriorate under the effects of sun, rain or temperature variations. Its rough finish gives it a look very similar to concrete or stone.
This material is designed to stand the test of time, even in difficult conditions. It is therefore ideal for sculptures or outdoor furniture. Unlike other Jesmonite ranges, AC730 can contain particles of stone, marble or quartz, for a unique, natural effect.
Intended for experienced designers, AC730 is more difficult to work with than AC100 or AC84, notably because of its texture and longer setting time.
With a curing time of 4 hours, AC730 requires more patience before demolding and finishing. It does not allow wide color customization, as the pigments are pre-mixed to preserve its mineral rendering.
AC730 can be sealed with flexiguard sealant (for a transparent finish). It is preferable to use sealers rather than varnishes, as they are much more powerful and offer better protection.
