This liquid pigment in a bottle will add color to your DIY Jesmonite decorative objects.
This solvent-free, water-based pigment should be added directly to the Jesmonite preparation. Highly concentrated, it has strong pigmentation power and high UV stability. You can mix the different shades in the range to make your own colors or create a marbled effect.
What is Jesmonite? It's a non-toxic, solvent-free acrylic resin composed of a mixture of gypsum (plaster stone) and a water-based acrylic component.
The bottle of liquid base must be shaken before mixing its contents with the powder base.
Very light, Jesmonite is resistant, durable and shock-resistant. Easy to use, it's the ideal material for decorative objects.
An ecological alternative to resin, Jesmonite can be colored with pigments or color chips to create a terrazzo effect.
How to use Jesmonite
1 - Mix the components, preferably with an electric mixer. The ratio is 1 volume of liquid to 2.5 volumes of powder.
2 - Add the colorant(s) you wish
3 - Mold in the silicone mold of your choice
4 - Remove air bubbles
5 - Allow to air dry (between 20 and 30 minutes)
6 - Remove from mold.
The final result can be sanded, waterproofed with pore-filler varnish (compatible with food contact) and varnished with satin varnish (water- and oil-repellent) for a glossy finish.
