Jesmonite AC730 powder base is one of the components for creating Jesmonite costume jewelry and decorative objects.
The powder is already enriched with natural pigments, so there's no need to add more. This powder base must be completed exclusively with Jesmonite AC730 liquid base.
What is Jesmonite? It's a non-toxic, solvent-free acrylic resin composed of a mixture of gypsum (plaster stone) and a water-based acrylic component (remember to mix well before use).
Very lightweight, Jesmonite is resistant, durable and shock-resistant. Easy to use, it's the ideal material for decorative objects.
How to use Jesmonite?
1 - Mix the components, preferably with an electric mixer. The ratio is 1 part liquid to 5 parts powder.
2 - Mold
3 - Remove air bubbles
4 - Allow to air dry (20-30 minutes)
5 - Remove from mold.
The final result can be sanded, waterproofed with filler varnish and varnished with satin varnish for a gloss finish.
A concrete effect can be achieved with23% hydrochloric acid. To do this, dilute 1 part acid with 1 part water (always in this order). Apply the diluted acid to the dry surface of Jesmonite using a brush or spray bottle. Allow the acid to take effect, then neutralize the acid by rinsing the surface thoroughly with clean water. Leave to dry.
Caution: hydrochloric acid is harmful and corrosive. Wear gloves, a mask and safety goggles, and work in a well-ventilated area. Handle hydrochloric acid with care.
