The difference between gemstones and semi-precious stones

No difference at all! "Pierre fine" is the official term that replaces the former term "semi-precious stone", now banned in France.

Cleaning natural stones

• Use a soft cloth soaked in soap solution (only damp, not soaked).
• Gently wipe the surface of the stone.
• Use a soft cloth dampened with lukewarm water to rinse off the soap solution.
• Dry immediately with a soft, dry cloth.

Porous stones, such as turquoise, opal or malachite, require gentle cleaning due to their delicate structure. It is imperative not to soak them in water in order to preserve their splendor.
