What is Jesmonite? It's a non-toxic, solvent-free acrylic resin composed of a mixture of gypsum (plaster stone) and a water-based acrylic component. Very light, Jesmonite is resistant.
Easy to use, it's the ideal material for decorative objects.
An ecological alternative to resin, Jesmonite can be colored with pigments or color chips to create a terrazzo effect.
How to use Jesmonite to make this round dish?
1 - Mix the components: 46 ml Jesmonite AC100 liquid base and 115 g powder base
2 - Add the colorant(s) you wish
3 - Mold
4 - Remove air bubbles
5 - Allow to air dry (between 20 and 30 minutes)
6 - Unmold
The final result can be sanded, waterproofed with pore-filler varnish (compatible with food contact) and varnished with satin varnish (water- and oil-repellent) for a gloss finish.
