Embroidery is a technique for decorating fabrics with patterns, flat or in relief, created with aneedle and various stitch techniques: cross-stitch, straight flat pass, impiétant flat pass, front stitch, bouclette stitch, etc.
Traditional embroidery is part of the great trend of DIY "Do It Yourself", whether in decoration, fashion or jewelry, it's making a big comeback!
The embroidery technique uses embroidery thread, but you can also use silk ribbons, cotton or fine wool. Don't forget to add seed beads, sequins or gemstones to your creations.
What do I need for hand embroidery ?
You'll find embroidery stitches in costume jewelry and home decor: Make pretty necklaces or brooches with our mini embroidery drums, or use wooden embroidery hoops as wall frames and colorful fabrics as embroidery stands. Get inspired by the decorating book to find out how to use an embroidery drum in an original way!
Embroidery without a drum? It's possible! Use plastic canvas for this method.
