How do you make macramé? Macramé is a special technique that consists of knotting cotton yarns, wool yarns or macramé rope. This technique can be used to create decorative objects and the micro-macramé technique can be used to make DIY jewellery: bracelets, necklaces and earrings. Decorate your home by creating macramé plant hangers, wall decorations, crowns and other macramé decorative elements. This creative activity is done by hand, without needles or hooks. It is enough to weave and braid threads by making more or less complex knots.

It is important to know that there is a difference between the macramé and micro-macramé technique. We are not going to use the same threads. The difference is mainly in the diameter of the wire. To create a DIY jewel we use wires with a diameter of 0.5 or 1 mm. To make an interior decoration in macramé you have to choose thicker wires.
There are 11 basic nodes for macramé decoration. The hangers and wall decorations will bring a bit of softness to your interior, for a Scandinavian, cocooning, bohemian or minimalist style.
