How to make a macrame plant suspension yourself?
Follow this very simple video tutorial to create your own macrame pendant for a flowerpot. It is a very easy and affordable DIY. All you need to know is a single knot: The macramé knot or flat knot and its twisted declination, the spiral of flat half-knots. Also find our video on the 11 basic macrame knots to create your own suspension model . It?s much easier than it sounds!
Natural white doesn't appeal to you? We have a large selection of macrame ropes colored in 3 mm . You can create supports for hanging macrame plants in dozens of different colors.
First prepare your equipment by gathering 8 pieces of 3 m rope with a thickness of 3 mm, 2 pieces of 80 cm, a wooden ring, a pair of scissors, and off you go!

Step 1 :
Pass the 8 cords in the ring that you will have fixed in height. Cut a new piece of 80 cm, form a loop that you will place against the ropes that you passed in the wooden ring to make a gallows knot. Wrap the longest end around the ropes and the loop, extending beyond the end of the loop. Once you get near the end of the loop, pass the wire in it and then pull the end of the top rope until the bottom wire and the loop are in the middle of the coiled strings.
2nd step :
Make 21 flat half knots using 4 strings to create a spiral. Do you have trouble understanding how to make this knot? Don't panic, we made a separate video for you to show you the 11 basic macrame knots. The link is in the introduction. The flat knot is at 12:30 a.m. and the flat half-knot is at 1:04 a.m.
Step 3:
Repeat step 2, 3 more times. You get 4 spirals.
Step 4:
After each set of rope, make a flat knot 12 cm from the end of the spiral.
Step 5:
Then use 2 ropes from 2 sets side by side. So you end up with 4 strings, the two ends of which are longer than the two in the center. Make a flat knot 18 cm from the last knots this time. Do this 3 more times to tie the knots on the suspension.
Step 6:
Then make 10 flat knots 10 cm from the last knot.
Step 7:
Finish hanging with a new gallows knot and cut the excess wire.
