Making a charms necklace is child's play! All it takes is a few simple steps to create a personalized necklace:
1 - Start by choosing the base of your necklace or bracelet with a chain or cord.
2 - Select your charms, beads or pendants according to the theme of your choice or by mixing several universes: animals, flowers, fruits and vegetables, sea animals, hearts, cowboy boots, stars... Feel free to mix shapes, materials, sizes and colors to create a unique necklace. The combination possibilities are endless.
3 - Hang your jewelry components on the chain, arranging them as you wish. Use an open ring or a jewelry nail (make sure the head of the nail doesn't go through).
4 - Finalize your jewelry with a clasp and extension chain.

It all depends on the style you're going for! For a minimalist look, one to three charms are all you need, spaced out on a thin chain or slipped over a large clasp like pendants. For a more bohemian or symbolic effect, you can multiply the charms (up to 7 or more) to create a lucky charm or personalized necklace.
The key is to find the right balance: play with sizes, shapes and textures (letters, stars, beads, symbols...) for a harmonious composition. If you're using thicker chains or multi-row necklaces, you can add more weight.

Attaching a charm to a necklace is fairly straightforward.
If your charm has an open ring, you can open it directly with pliers (the most effective method is to use two flat jewelry pliers). Then attach it to your wire or chain.
If it has a closed ring, you have two options: if you're making a necklace with wire, simply slide the charm onto the wire. If you're working on a fine chain, ditto. For mesh chain, you'll need a junction ring. Open it, insert your charm and hook it onto your chain.
If you need it, we've got a data sheet to help you learn how to open your rings properly.
