The grades of freshwater pearls allow us to evaluate their quality according to several criteria: luster (brilliance), surface, shape, color and size. This is also what determines their price.

• Grade AAA: very high quality pearls, 95% smooth surface.
• Grade AA+: 75% to 90% of surface free of imperfections.
• Grade AA: good brilliance, some minor imperfections.
• Grade AA -: Medium gloss, 60 to 70% of surface free of imperfections.
• Grade A: more irregular surface and imperfections visible to the naked eye.

The number of freshwater pearls needed to make a necklace varies according to the type of necklace you want to make and the size of pearls used. To clean freshwater pearls without damaging them, follow these simple tips:

• Use a soft, slightly damp cloth, without soap or chemicals.
• Avoid abrasive cleaners, alcohol, perfumes or hot water.
• After wearing, wipe your jewelry to remove traces of sweat, make-up or pollution.
• Store your pearls in a textile pouch or compartmentalized box, away from moisture.
