Peut-on également se servir de cet outils pour les perles en pierres naturelles ?
Merci,

Creating costume jewelry sometimes involves modifying materials slightly to meet our specific needs. Enlarging the holes of a freshwater pearl is a very useful technique for designers wishing to use thicker wires and add a unique touch to their creation. In this video, we explain how to enlarge the holes in your freshwater pearls safely, using the right jewelry tools.
On our site, you'll discover a vast selection of freshwater pearls, most of them high quality and AAA grade.
For the record, these pearls come from a particular species of mollusc, the pearl mussel, which naturally evolves in lakes, ponds and rivers. The formation of these pearls begins with the insertion of a small fragment of shell into the mussel, which serves as the nucleus. Around this nucleus, the pearl develops entirely in mother-of-pearl.
Ultra-trendy, freshwater pearls are finally finding their way back into our jewelry boxes. They add a vintage, refined touch to any style of outfit, whether casual or more traditional. Find inspiration with our freshwater pearl tutorials. In this video, as a case in point, we've chosen to make a fine ring adorned with a freshwater pearl. In the same spirit as this weekday ring with a mother-of-pearl pearl.
Before you start, make sure you have a sharp drill bit (or ball burr), a Dremel Stylo + (or a hand-drilling tool- it takes longer, but it works).
Set up in a well-lit, stable area. Make sure your work surface is clean and clear to avoid any accidents.
Secure the bead in a drilling stand (if possible) or hold it firmly. It's important to hold the bead securely to prevent it from turning or slipping during drilling.
Carefully insert the drill bit into the mini drill. Set the drill to low to medium speed and start drilling slowly, applying light pressure. It's essential to take your time and pause frequently. If the bead starts to get too hot, don' t hesitate to plunge it briefly into water to cool it down.
Use a soft cloth to clean the pearl and check for splinters or cracks.
It's important to wear safety glasses and to work in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhaling mother-of-pearl dust.
