Make a multitude of chic and elegant DIY costume jewelry with these irregular Biwa freshwater pearls!
What are freshwater pearls?Freshwater pearls are natural pearls bred in the fresh waters of rivers and lakes. These pearls are nucleated using organic matter, usually a fragment of shell, so that the bead is made exclusively of mother-of-pearl. Nature never does the same thing twice, which is why beads vary in shape and size. Some are round or oval, others are long or twisted. It's these irregularities that give them their charm.
This freshwater bead has an AA- grade, which means it has medium luster and slight imperfections. Its excellent quality makes it ideal for creations that are both beautiful and affordable.

It has been treated with bleaching after extraction from the pearl mussel. This is a very common practice that in no way detracts from the quality of the pearls, but, on the contrary, enhances their beauty and brilliance.
How to use this natural pearl?
