What are freshwater pearls?Freshwater pearls are natural pearls bred in the fresh waters of rivers and lakes. These pearls are nucleated using organic matter, usually a fragment of shell, so that the pearl is made exclusively of mother-of-pearl. Nature never does the same thing twice, which is why pearl shapes and sizes vary. Some are round or oval, others are long or twisted. It's these irregularities that give them their charm.
These freshwater pearls are Grade A, which means they have a moderate lustre and some imperfections. Their excellent quality makes them ideal for uniquely stylish creations.
