Freshwater pearl necklace with gold filled clasp

How to make a necklace with freshwater pearls ?

Easily create a freshwater pearl necklace worthy of a jewelry store with this tutorial. This necklace is made of real freshwater pearls in olive shape, a gold filled clasp and 100% silk thread. Between each freshwater pearl is strung an optional miyuki delicas 11/0 pearl. You can replace them with seed beads or with gold filled pearls. For more personalization, the simple round charm of the extension chain has been replaced by a stylized beetle. Find other ideas for charms at the bottom of the page in the variation section.

Irregularly shaped freshwater pearls have made a comeback in trends in recent years. If perfection was once sought, with smooth, round pearls, today we seek beauty in imperfection and naturalness. Each of the pearls of this necklace is therefore different from the other. This does not prevent this necklace to be both refined without being too strict. It can be worn with any outfit. From the evening dress to the simple shirt through the overalls in jeans. This makes it a perfect necklace for a minimalist wardrobe.

In addition, this necklace is made with materials that will last over time. Indeed, the gold filled has the advantage of being more resistant to wear than gold plated and almost does not oxidize. The silk thread is a naturally resistant material. To avoid friction of the pearls on the wire, we make knots between each pearl but, nevertheless, you are not obliged to make these knots.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Freshwater pearl necklace with gold filled clasp : Step 1

Unwind the entire thread from the cardboard. You will be using the end of the thread first so you can keep the built-in needle for future projects. Thread 1 squeeze bead, 1 wire guard and iron through the squeeze bead. Extend the wire end a few millimeters beyond the bead. Flatten the bead to be crushed, check that the wire does not slip. Hide the bead with a bead cover.

Thread 1 golden delicas 11/0. Tie a knot just after the bead.

Step 2

Alternate 1 delicas 11/0 and 1 freshwater pearl on the necklace. Tie a knot after each bead. To direct the knot against the bead, slip a sturdy needle or toothpick through the loop of the knot and then slide the knot onto the wire by holding the wire and moving the needle.

Step 3

Attach as many beads as you like. Test the necklace on your neck to be sure of the length. On this model, we attached 40 freshwater pearls.

Finish as in step 1, with 1 crush bead, 1 wire guard and 1 bead cover.

Step 4

To personalize the necklace a little more, cut the ball ring on the extension chain with a pair of wire cutters. Open a ring with two pliers and slip in the charm of your choice, here a beetle. Hang the charm on the end of the chain and close the ring. Attach the chain to the wire guard with a new ring. Do the same with the clasp.

Bonjour, oui par contre les perles sont un peu petites par rapport au fermoir dont vous parlez je pense, mais si c'est ce que vous recherchez comme rendu, oui, vous pouvez.
