Festive earrings with Aurora crystals: three drop-shaped crystals—in Crystal Lilac Delite, Crystal Royal Red Delite, and Crystal Violet Blue—are set in fine gold plated flower-shaped earstuds. The assembly requires three pliers and a few stud earring backs. This project is suitable for beginners and is perfect for the holiday season.
These festive earrings with Aurora crystals feature a small gold flower paired with three drop-shaped crystals in a setting made from Crystal Lilac Delite, Crystal Royal Red Delite, and Crystal Violet Blue. The lilac, deep red, and violet-blue hues complement each other against the gold of the metal. This piece follows the trend of evening accessories worn from fall through Christmas. The glamorous, vintage style is highlighted here by deep colors and a striking sparkle. The earrings are best worn with a simple outfit, as they alone are enough to dress up a New Year’s Eve look. They also make a perfect handmade Christmas gift.
The crystals are Aurora A4320 crystals, teardrop-shaped and already set in a gold frame. The setting eliminates the need to mount each stone by hand and ensures a uniform appearance from one earring to the next. Each color retains a translucent background with a shimmer unique to the Delite collection. The flowers are 13-mm fine gold platedearstuds, featuring an open ring for attaching the pendants. You can browse the A4320 crystals category to see the available shades.
The technique is straightforward; this is a jewelry-making project suitable for beginners. Insert two flat-head pins into each setting, then use flat-nose pliers to bend them at a right angle. Next, cut the wire to 2 cm using wire cutters. Use round-nose pliers to form a loop above each setting. If you’re new to this technique, the technical guide on looped studs details the method. You can also choose metal studs designed for this assembly.
All that’s left is to join the two loops in the center of the setting. Open the loop of the earring post with pliers, slide both loops inside, and then close the loop. No soldering is required, and the entire process can be completed in a short session.
Customization starts with color. Aurora teardrops are available in Capri Blue, Chrysolite, Crystal AB, Crystal Sunshine Delite, Crystal, and Emerald, for blue, green, or luminous versions. You can also choose a different earstud shape by browsing our selection of earstuds. With over 70,000 options, you can customize this handmade piece by browsing categories such as metal, cut, or other crystals. Start by sliding two pins into the three settings to assemble them.

Using a pair of flat-nose pliers, bend each nail at a right angle.

Using wire cutters, cut the nail so that you have 2 cm of wire left.

Next, use round-nose pliers to form a loop.
You can refer to our technical guide: Making a loop on a nail or jewelry wire.

Bring the two loops together in the middle of the setting so that you can easily hook them onto the earring post, which you’ve already opened with pliers. Slide both loops onto the post, then close the post.
