Earrings in epoxy resin and glitter

How to make resin glitter earrings?

Dive into the creative world of handmade jewelry with our detailed tutorial for making Reeacute;sine Époxy and Glitter Earrings. These unique earrings, with their asymmetrical, organic shapes, are inspired by contemporary design. Poxy resin is a material that can be customized in many ways. In this tutorial, we've made a version with paillettes Sisi la paillette gold and gold metal leaves, as well as a version with these same elements and fuchsia glitter on top. You can also include accessoires à résiner.

We used bi-component résine époxy to make these earrings, as it's cheaper than résine UV LED. It is also possible to use UV LED resin, but please note that your shapes may be slightly curved, as UV LED resin is very retractable. The disadvantage of the poxy resin is that it takes 48 hours for the first coat to harden, bearing in mind that we need at least two coats for our project. The UV LED resin cures in just a few minutes under a UV LED lamp.

Note that the mold is also compatible with other materials: you can finish these earrings with Jesmonite or Raysin molding powder, and even add a coat of glaze resin or UV LED resin as a finishing varnish.

These earrings are perfect for completing a boho chic outfit, pairing harmoniously with flowing dresses, embroidered tunics or light blouses. They're also ideal for those special occasions when you want to look both sophisticated and original. Whether you're at a festival, a wedding, or just enjoying a sunny afternoon at the local cafe, these earrings will add a special touch to your ensemble. Follow our tutorial to learn how to create these resin jewelry pieces.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Earrings in epoxy resin and glitter : Step 1

Print the required volume of resin according to the instructions. Use a cardboard cup for your mixture. Mix the resin with the hardener for 1 to 2 minutes. Add gold foil and gold glitter to the mixture. Note that it's best to add a large amount of glitter if you want a pretty result.

.

Pour the golden mixture into the mold with a thin spatula and save a little if you want to make the second version with the fuchsia glitter. Make thin layers as you'll need a second layer and you don't want the shape to be too thick. Add the Fuchsia glitter to the mixture and pour it into the new mold.

Tap the glitter into the mold.

Lightly tap the mold for 1 minute to bring up the bubbles. Pass a gas-lighter over the bubbles to make them pop.

Leave to harden for 48 hours in the shade in a room that doesn't have too great a variation in temperature.

The bubbles are now ready to pop.

Step 2

Once the first layer has hardened, apply the second layer. This corrects the fact that the first layer of resin forms edges against the mould walls. Apply less resin than the first time. You can also embed stud earrings in the resin to glue them in place. Leave to harden for 48 h. (The colors in the mold are different, as the photo is from a test mold).

Step 3

Mold your shapes and mount your earrings with large hoops.
