The Chinese New Year celebration is just around the corner... And this year, the rooster is in the spotlight!
Estelle from the blog Mon petit bout de chou suggests weaving a rooster pattern with pretty shimmering colors in shades of pink and gold, which we imagine mounted on a brooch.
For beginners, don't hesitate to read our technical sheet to learn bead weaving, how to make a brick stitch weave with augmentation and reduction?
Many thanks to Estelle for sharing the diagram and her step-by-step explanations. If you'd like to weave other patterns just as cute, visit our page dedicated to Miyuki bead weaving.

STEP 1
Weave the first row in ladder stitch.

STEP 2
Begin part 1 (head) by weaving using the brick stitch technique.

STEP 3
Continue with part 2 (bottom and legs).

STEP 4
Finish with the feathers for parts 3 and 4.

You've finished and can now weave this rooster into a brooch or necklace to celebrate Chinese New Year!

We'd love to see your version of this rooster brooch ... so don't hesitate to send us your photos on facebook or by e-mail, they might inspire others!
