Learn how to use epoxy resin and alcohol inks to create cabochon pendant necklaces set in silver. A fun and easy DIY technique to achieve beautiful effects in the resin, all embellished with gold leaf fragments. The assembly of the pendants is simple, the resin replaces the glue and reinforces its solidity. The chain used is made of stainless steel and is ready to use with its clasp already incorporated. This tutorial can be done by a beginner.
Make your mixture of the two components by putting 30 mm of resin then add 15 ml of hardener, mix well then for more safety pour your mixture into a second container. Let your mixture thicken for 2 hours.
Pour the resin into each hollow of the cabochon mould, add a single drop of ink in a few circles, the lighter colours first.
The remaining resin should be frozen for later use.
Have fun varying the colors of alcohol inks, do not put more than 3 drops in the largest hollows. Apply yourself to leave some places without ink, deposit on the surface some fragments of gold leaves.
Wait two days before handling and removing your cabochons from the mould. The longer you wait the better.
There are many pendants crimped for cabochons you have a wide choice on the site with all the different possible galvanizations. Take out half an hour in advance the resin that you had frozen, put a drop on the bottom of the crimp and put your resin cabochon on it. Pass a 6 mm ring through the hole of the pendant and then pass it through the necklace.
