Resin gold earrings with gold leaves

Learn how to use resin to create your jewelry, follow this step by step to create your pair of earrings with two complementary effects, an opaque coloring and on the same piece of transparency with an integration of fragments of gold leaf.

This tutorial can be done by a person who starts in this resin universe, follow the steps without changing the material used. The mould used being translucent it is possible to make this same tutorial but with UV resin and UV LED, the coloring products are compatible.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Resin gold earrings with gold leaves : Step 1

Prepare the mixture of your two components, start by putting 30 ml of resin in a container and then add 15 ml of hardener. Mix with a stick, let the mixture settle until the bubbles disappear.

Step 2
Resin gold earrings with gold leaves : Step 2

Divide your resin mixture evenly into two containers. Add golden mica powder and 3 drops of resin dye of the same colour to one of them.

Pour a few drops of the golden mixture on the top of your mould and then some transparent resin at the bottom. Using a toothpick, add fragments of gold leaf.

Step 3
Resin gold earrings with gold leaves : Step 3

The colored resin will go down a little in the mold taking the place of the transparent resin so don't put too much, on the first third of the mold it's perfect.

Fill in the same way the round mould which will be used as a spacer for the earring.

Immediately put your two containers of resin in the freezer.

Step 4

It is preferable to wait two days to remove the shapes from the moulds without leaving our imprints. When we turn the resin part over, we can see that the mica powder has settled on the bottom, the earring can be seen from this angle but my favorite is on the other side.

Step 5
Resin gold earrings with gold leaves : Step 5

Take your resin out of the freezer 20 minutes before using again, stir the mixture gently. Make your second earring as you did the first one. Two days later, when both are ready, you can pour some transparent resin on the side that is not flat to add a little depth.

Step 6
Resin gold earrings with gold leaves : Step 6

Wait at least one day before handling your parts after the last coat of resin finish.

Pass your 5 mm rings through to connect your parts and attach them to the ear studs.
