Knot Brooch in Brick Stitch weaving

Diagram :
To begin with, it's best to start with a simple pattern to learn how to make increases and decreases.
You can also use this diagram to understand how to make increases and decreases in Brick Stitch.

Row 1:

Step 1:
Cut about 2m of thread and thread a needle through each end.
Thread the first bead in row 1 of the diagram and block it in the middle by crossing the thread.

Step 2

Row 2:

Step 4 :
Decrease at beginning and end of row. From this point on, only one needle is needed. Thread the first bead of row 2, then pass the needle under the thread between the first two beads of row 1 and pass the needle back through the bead.

The bead is positioned on the second row, straddling the first two beads of row 1.

Rows 3 to 8 :

Step 5 :
Proceed in the same way. The weaving method involves systematically shifting the beads by half a place.

etape_5_01

At the end of the row, decreases occur naturally.

Row 9 :

Step 6:
Increases at the beginning and end of the row.

etape6

Increases at the beginning of the row: thread together the first two beads of the row. Pass under the thread connecting the first two beads of the previous row, then pass the thread back through the second bead to lock it in place.

End-of-row increases: place the last bead of the row and proceed in the same way, but as this bead has no fastener, secure it between the last two beads of the previous row.

Tuck the threads by ironing in a few beads and cut flush. Glue a brooch, for example, to the back of the knot.

Congratulations, your bow is finished!
