The Origin of Amazonite

In many ancient civilizations, amazonite was associated with the gods. In Mesopotamia, it was dedicated to Tiamat, the goddess of waters and oceans. The Babylonians believed it was the source of everything, including the creation of the gods. For the Navajo people, it was associated with Estsanatlehi, the goddess responsible for the creation of humanity.
The Egyptians used amazonite in jewelry and to create ritual objects. They crafted jewelry such as rings, pendants, amazonite bracelets, and necklaces. The most famous piece of amazonite jewelry is a scarab ring found in Tutankhamun’s tomb.
As for the Romans, they adorned their shields with amazonite stones. In addition to decorating their weapons of war, they believed this stone possessed protective powers.

To restore its full energy and eliminate negative energy, this natural stone needs to be purified and recharged regularly.
There are several ways topurify amazonite:

• with soil: Bury your stone in a garden or flowerpot for at least 24 hours.
• with incense: pass the smoke from incense or white sage around the stone several times.

To recharge your stone, place it for a few hours in direct sunlight or under the soft, regenerating light of the moon (preferably on full moon nights). Ideally, place it on a cluster of quartz or an amethyst geode to enhance the process.
