How to choose your resin molds?

DIY creations with resin are back in fashion. Many resins can be used very easily and by everyone. A whole universe of jewelry and decoration creations is offered to you! But only when you start, you don't know which resin to choose.
We will not talk here about the coating resin which is used in thin layer to make its support shine whether it is plastic, glass, wood or other materials and which does not require any mold.

Which mold to use for resin?

The best molds you can use are all made of silicone, which makes them easy to remove from the mold, as they are flexible, self-releasing and can be reused many times.
In general, all resins are suitable for silicone molds. However, you should pay attention to their color, glossy or satin appearance.

Glossy silicone molds

Glossy silicone molds will have a glossy finish on the resin as well. We use epoxy resins, Crystal' Diamond from Cleopatra or crystal resin from Gedeo.

Silicone molds with a matte or satin finish

Silicone molds with a matte or satin finish will give the same look to the resin, and the resin objects will also be matte. Epoxy inclusion resins are used as for glossy molds.

Transparent silicone molds

Transparent silicone molds can be used with all resins and have a glossy appearance. They are basically designed for UV resin and UV Led resin which need to let light through under lamp. Other epoxy resins also work in these molds.

Bonjour ,
