Inclusion casting technique using moulds

You can use castin resin with a mould, to cast for example
beads or charms in a cabochon.

Material and advice:
A mold, Bijoux inclusion fantaisie n°2.
Casting resin, and the chemist kit for casting resin, will be helpful to work.
In the example below we use 5 2 hole beads 15x6mm Dyed of different colours.

Step 1:

Mix 1 portion of hardener with 2 portions of casting resin,
shake the mix gently to avoid bubbles.
Pour the mix into a bottle with precision tip.
Pour some millimiters of the mixture into the mould.

Step 2:

Let the resin dry for some hours, it must be hard enough,
even if it is still a bit sticky.
Once the resin is dry place the 2 hole beads.

Step 3:

Mix 1 portion of hardener with 2 portions of casting resin,
shake the mix gently to avoid bubbles.
Pour the mix into a bottle with precision tip.
Pour the resin onto the beads.

Step 4:

You can pierce bubbles with a needle if necessary.

Step 5:

After 48 hours drying, you can unmold the cabochon.
You can smooth the edge of the cabochon for a better finish.

Step 6:

Let dry away from the sun during 15 days to get a complete polimerization.

Advice for use:

Do not hesitate to let dry the first layer of resin during a long time,
to avoid the beads from sinking.

Respect the conservation temperatures so the products do not alter.

Use quickly the cast resin and the hardener, because they alter in time, even if they are not mixed and if you keep them away from light.
You can use alterated products, but drying time will be much longer.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Inclusion casting technique using moulds : Step 1

Mix a small amount of resin according to the instructions (one part hardener, two parts resin).
Stir the mixture gently to avoid the formation of bubbles, then transfer it into an empty bottle with a precision nozzle.
Pour a first layer of resin of a few millimeters into the mold.

Step 2
Inclusion casting technique using moulds : Step 2

Let it dry for a few hours, the resin can be sticky, but quite hard.
Once the resin is dry, place your resin elements.

Tips: Don't hesitate to let the resin dry longer (especially the first layer, because otherwise the elements you are going to include will sink).

Step 3
Inclusion casting technique using moulds : Step 3

Make a second mixture of resin, in larger quantity to be able to fill the mould, by respecting the dosages indicated on the instructions.
Transfer the mixture into the bottle with precision nozzle.
Pour the resin on the elements to be resinated.

inclusiones, puedes utilizar unos moldes poco rígidos
(no moldes de silicona) y podrás también utilizarlos para creaciones con
pasta polimérica.
He aquí 2 referencias OUTIL-528 y OUTIL-527 que son moldes adaptados para la
resina para hacer inclusiones.
