Tutorial steps

Step 1
Imitation ceramic polymer clay earrings : Step 1

You can use leftover recycled dough as the color is not important.
Apply your texture plate to the polymer and press firmly and evenly.
Everything should have the same texture height; if any areas are not sufficiently marked, don't hesitate to repeat this step.
Bake the polymer plate at 130 degrees for 30 minutes, lying flat.

Step 2
Imitation ceramic polymer clay earrings : Step 2

Prepare a slab of medium-notch blue dough, and texture it with the slab negative you've just made.
Use talcum powder on the texture to prevent the polymer from sticking in the hollows.

Step 3
Imitation ceramic polymer clay earrings : Step 3

Using your blade, cut 2 identical rectangles in the same pattern on the plate. Using a small cookie cutter, cut out 2 10 mm rounds.

Step 4
Imitation ceramic polymer clay earrings : Step 4

Cover your pieces with white liquid polymer. Use a needle or toothpick to pierce any air bubbles.

Step 5
Imitation ceramic polymer clay earrings : Step 5

Remove excess white liquid from the surface with your fingertips or a damp cloth, to avoid excessive sanding.

Step 6
Imitation ceramic polymer clay earrings : Step 6

Bake the pieces at 130 degrees for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare 2 other identical rectangles in the remaining blue textured plate.

Position your unfired rectangles on the back of the fired pieces, cut off any excess with the blade, then repeat steps 4 and 5 before firing the pieces a second time at 130 degrees for 20 minutes.

Step 7
Imitation ceramic polymer clay earrings : Step 7

Put your pieces in soapy water, then sand with 600 grit the surface of your pieces on both sides until the blue patterns are clean, with no white. Sand the edges and break up the corners with finer abrasive paper such as 800 grit.

Step 8
Imitation ceramic polymer clay earrings : Step 8

This step will level the surface of your pieces. Spread transparent polymer over the surface, using a toothpick to spread the liquid to the edges.

Bake at 150 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes, until the opacity disappears completely. Polymer parts will not be damaged, as they are protected by the liquid and the cooking time is not too long.

Place your pieces in water to cool, then repeat this last step on the reverse side of the rectangular pieces and bake.

Step 9
Imitation ceramic polymer clay earrings : Step 9

Cool and dry your parts before varnishing them in 2 coats. A very light first coat, followed 10 minutes later by a thicker final coat.

Step 10
Imitation ceramic polymer clay earrings : Step 10

Drill your rectangles on the top slice and the bottom slice in the middle. Cut 4 round-headed nails, keeping only about 5 mm, and drive them into each hole, coating them with glue beforehand.

Pass a 7 mm ring through each pom-pom and hook them onto the bottom nails. Glue your circles to the ear studs, without plugging the protruding ring.

Place a 4 mm ring between the loop holder and your pieces. Close your rings tightly.
