How to cook the fimo?

  • Preheat the oven to 110 ° C. Work your polymer clay on a tile plate or a silicone mat.
  • Arrange your creations to cook on the plate of the oven, protected by parchment paper (baking paper). Be sure to space your creations so they do not stick during cooking. Be careful not to put the baking sheet in contact with food.
If they are pearls, and you don't have a dremel, don't forget to pierce them with a toothpick and especially prick the toothpick in a ball of aluminum foil so that they don't flatten out during cooking. You can also place them in a baking rack.
  • When the oven is at 110° C (thermostat 3), put your models in the oven for 30 minutes. It is imperative to respect the time and temperature of cooking. If in doubt, refer to the bags of polymer clay Fimo to read the instructions.
  • When the cooking time is over, remove the plate from the oven.
  • Remove your creations from the baking sheet to prevent further cooking and let cool.
  • Leave the oven door and window open for ventilation.
  • Once your creations are completely cool, you can sand, polish, buff or varnish them.

Good to know:

  • When you take your creations out of the oven, they have not hardened, they are still malleable? This is normal! Fimo will be perfectly hard after a complete drying and not before. Patience, patience!
  • It is important to take certain precautions: work in a well-ventilated or ventilated room to avoid possible toxic fumes.
  • If the firing temperature is too high, your creations may turn brown, blister or even melt.
If the temperature is too low, your Fimo polymer clay may be soft even after a complete cooling time. To control the temperature of your oven, you can use a thermometer adapted.
