Cut a piece of your dough loaf with your blade.

Learn in this tutorial to make in minutes two pairs of earrings in Fimo clay. Easy and quick to do this project can largely be done by a beginner. You will discover how to make jewelry beginners in Fimo but also how to use a texture plate and finally how to make holes with a hand chuck. So if you are still hesitating to start creating in polymer, leave behind your apprehension and put your hand to the dough. You'll see, it's not that complicated and polymer clay offers infinite possibilities for creation.
To answer some of your technical questions we invite you to visit our "Learn" area where you will find our technical sheets by category to learn all the basics of jewelry making.
This pair of earrings has been designed in a sober and elegant style but you can change it in many ways, here are some ideas:
- change the size of the jewel by choosing smaller or larger cookie cutters
- opt for a completely different shape ofcookie cutter: diamond, star, rectangle, flowers, drop...
- create your jewelry with polymer clay in the color of your choice or mix colors on the same pair to distinguish the ear stud from the central pendant.
- add mini charms instead of sequins or place studs and seed beads to create bangs under the pendant (to be found in the "variation" material list at the bottom of the page)
You will have understood that it is only an inspiration that you can decline to the infinity by letting speak your creativity. It's up to you to play !

Cut a piece of your dough loaf with your blade.

Knead it between your hands to warm it up a bit and soften it. Roll out your dough with a rolling pin before running it through your dough machine several times at the thickest setting. With each new pass, fold the dough over on itself before placing the fold between the two rollers.

Once you have an evenly shaped plate that is large enough to hold your texture plate, cut off the uneven edges with your blade.

Place your texture plate over your dough and roll it over with emphasis to mark the dough with the pattern. You can also run the whole thing through the dough machine at the thickest notch.

Gently remove the texture plate from your dough plate. You will be pleased to discover the pattern. Use cookie cutters to cut out your shapes as you wish. To do this tutorial identically, take:
- 2 small circles in the "aster flowers" pattern plate that will serve as ear studs + 2 large circles
- 2 large ovals in the "exotic leaf" pattern plate
Place all your creations in the oven for 30 minutes at 120°C. Let your pieces cool down so that they harden (the pieces remain malleable when they come out of the oven because they are still hot).

If you wish, you can gently sand the edges of your parts with 1000 grit sandpaper.
Using a hand chuck, drill your pieces. To make this pair of earrings you will need to drill your two large rounds a few millimeters from the edge in two places:
- at the top to connect the pendant to the ear stud with a ring
- at the bottom in the center (opposite the first hole) making between 5 and 7 holes that will be used to place mini earrings.
NB: The realization of the second pair is identical to the difference that you have only one hole to make to connect the piece to the ring of the ear stud.

Glue your ear studs onto your small polymer clay rounds, making sure to leave the ring of the ear stud sticking out. Wait for the glue to dry before attaching the pendant to the ear stud with an open ring.
Use a pair of pliers to attach the small gold sequins with small open rings.
