Émeline from the blog Les agrumes suggests we use Miyuki Delicas beads to weave a red apple, the symbol of New York City. This weaving, made using the brick stitch technique, is mounted as a brooch, so you can give your outfit that finishing touch.

How to weave an apple with Miyuki Delicas beads? This apple is woven using the brick stitch method. Find out more about our step-by-step instructions for this bead-weaving technique:
You can hang it on your favorite top. Here, the designer has hung it on a marinière. A successful combination!

Cut about 1.20 meters of thread. Start weaving at the bottom of the row marked by the arrow, leaving a little thread at the beginning, which you will pull in at the end.

Continue weaving to the right. You'll have only two rows of the leaf, then come back to it in the last step. Continue weaving to the right end of the apple.
Tuck the remaining thread into a few beads to hold it in place, then cut as close to the bead as possible.

Take another 1 meter of thread. Insert it into the weaving you've already started, and begin weaving at the top of the apple's tail with the brown beads.
Continue weaving to the left end of the apple. Tuck in and cut the thread as explained in the first step.

Take a small piece of yarn to finish the green leaf. Start weaving at the bottom of the 3rd green row. Follow the grid to the end of the leaf.
Tuck in and cut the thread.

To stiffen your weave, coat the back with jewelry glue. Before the glue dries, attach the brooch support. Let the glue dry.
