Mix equal parts of ruby red translucent cernit paste and white paste.
In this video tutorial, Stella aka CréaStella explains how to make a nice pair of watermelon slice fruit earrings. They will be in perfect harmony with the colorful and fruity trend of this summer 2021.
This tutorial is accessible to all and requires only the basic material for the creation of polymer clay jewelry. So even if you are a beginner in polymer clay, no reason not to start, this is a good way to learn the modelling basics. Also discover the basics of jewelry mounting by learning how to mount your creation on a pair of earrings with rings.

Mix equal parts of ruby red translucent cernit paste and white paste.

Roll out the mixture with a roller to a thickness of about 2/3 mm.
To get an even thickness I used 2 wooden sticks on each side of the dough.

I spread with the same thickness the anise green cernit dough.

Make a fine colombin with the Spanish Premo olive paste. A darker colour than the green base we have just spread.

Place the dark green strips at regular intervals on the light green plate.

Smooth it all out with a roller.

Cut regular strips vertically with a blade.

Cut out two ovals from the pink dough previously spread.

Cut the end of the ovals with the blade.

Place the green striped bands at the end, and cut off the excess.

Trim the edges of the ovals to make them a little more geometric and regular.

Make a very thin piece of black polymer clay, and cut out small pieces of clay.

Roll a small portion of black between your fingers, pinching one end to create a point.

Place the small black seeds on the pendants to create the watermelon seeds.

Hole the end of the pendant to be able to mount it in jewels. Then bake the creations for 30 minutes at 110°C.

After firing, varnish the creation. For a very shiny effect, I used the finishing lacquer Graine créative .

After the varnish is dry, let's start the assembly. I open to start a ring of 8mm diameter with 2 mounting clamps.

In this ring I insert the watermelon pendant and the hammered ear stud.

It only remains to close the ring and do the same for the 2 pendants.
