The other technique for engraving jewelry is punching. With this technique, you don't need to know anything about lettering or calligraphy, as the letters are already formed on punching dies. Yes, provided the thickness of the medal is sufficient (generally from 0.7 mm or 1 mm). If you use the punching technique, beware of ghosting: the punch mark may be slightly visible on the reverse side. For perfect double-sided engraving, opt for gentle machine or manual engraving.
