Peridot is one of the few gemstones that comes in just one color: green. But what a green! From soft, translucent green to deep olive green, each stone is an invitation to light. Its natural transparency and slightly golden lustre make it the perfect material for jewelry.
Peridot, also known as "evening emerald", is a gem steeped in history and symbolism.
In DIY, Peridot goes well with gold finishes (fine gold or Gold Filled) for a warm, sunny look. For a cooler, more contemporary look, cooler 925 silver or stainless steel contrast with its acid green. You can also combine Peridot with other natural gemstones, such as Citrine for a vitaminized effect, or Moonstone for a softer, gentler creation.
Peridot has a hardness of 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale. Although hard-wearing, it is sensitive to thermal shock and aggressive chemicals. To preserve the brilliance of your components, we recommend gentle cleaning with soapy water and drying with a soft cloth.
The warm, luminous green of peridot can be combined with many stones, depending on the mood you want to create:
Because peridot is naturally warm and luminous, it can withstand contrasting combinations without ever losing its personality.
In lithotherapy, Peridot is recognized as a stone of protection and self-confidence. It helps dispel negative energies and promotes emotional balance. It is the birthstone of August.
Please note: our gemstones are not sold for lithotherapy. The effects of stones have not been scientifically proven. Natural stones are no substitute for medical expertise or treatment.
