Enhance your polymer clay creations with this VeroS Transfer Sheet No. 336, a water-soluble paper that lets you easily print unique patterns onto the surface of your handmade jewelry.
This transfer sheet, printed on the pattern side, is placed directly onto a sheet of uncooked polymer clay to transfer a leopard pattern onto it simply by coming into contact with water. The water-soluble paper dissolves when wet, leaving only the ink fixed to the surface. The pattern in item No. 336 features clean, precise lines, ideal for adding a graphic touch to your creations. The sheet measures 13.5 x 9 cm, allowing you to create multiple pieces from a single transfer, depending on the size of the cutouts.
Please note: Each sheet is for single use only.
How to use water-soluble transfer sheets for polymer clay?
- Roll out your Fimo clay using a rolling pin or a polymer clay machine.
- Cut out the pattern and place it on the clay, making sure the surface is smooth and clean (before baking).
- Smooth it out with your fingers or gently with the rolling pin to remove any air bubbles. Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes so the ink transfers to the clay.
- Spray water onto the transfer sheet or run the sheet directly under a low-temperature faucet (a light stream of water is sufficient). Rub with your finger to remove any remaining paper. Once the paper has dissolved, the image will remain on the polymer clay.
- Let it dry for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Quickly cut the sheet to size as needed and apply it to your chosen surface. Handle the clay carefully, avoiding contact with the image.
- Bake your polymer clay as usual, at the temperature specified by the manufacturer.
- If any paper residue remains after baking, you can remove it by running your piece under water (with a light stream) and gently rubbing it with your finger.
Whether you’re new to polymer clay or already have experience, you’ll find technical guides and tutorials on the website to walk you through the process step by step: choosing tools, cutting techniques, baking tips, and even tricks for achieving a fingerprint-free surface. This will help you progress at your own pace and diversify your creations.
Water-soluble paper is a bio-based material made from wood pulp fibers sourced from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and a natural cellulose ingredient. When the material comes into contact with water, the cellulose-based ingredient dissolves, and the wood pulp fibers separate and remain. This revolutionary technology is readily biodegradable in accordance with OECD Standard 301B. Microorganisms and bacteria then help break down the wood pulp fibers even further, allowing for complete biodegradation.
