Create a pair of earrings by combining PureCrystal crystals with the polymer technique. The crystals we've used are special in that they have a gold Patina finish on a Crystal Scarlet base. A coating that gives the crystals a red magma effect.

Prepare 2 sheets of black polymer clay with a medium notch, in this case notch number 4 on the Impéria machine. If you have an Atlas dough machine, one plate thickness at the widest notch will suffice.

Take a 4 cm and a 2 cm cookie cutter. Take 2 rounds of each size from your plate.

Cut each 4 cm round into 2 parts, keeping only one of the two. Place the small cookie cutter on the half-rounds, then cut a circle from the middle of each.

Place the small circles in the gap just created. Weld the doughs together by placing parchment paper on the polymer and using a smooth card to make small circles to bind the doughs together. Be careful not to press too hard, as this will deform the pieces. You can re-cut the bottom again with the cookie cutter if it gets too big.

Press your crystals into the polymer, symmetrical to the center.

Texture the surface of your dough by making ridges with the less sharp side of your blade, then prick all around the round cabochon with your ball-tipped tool. Pierce your pieces just above the round cabochon with a needle.

Dip a fingertip into the jar of pearl ex powder, then run it over the surface of the future earrings. You can use a small brush around the round cabochon. The aim is to cover the surface without getting into the hollows of the textures.

Bake in a conventional oven at 120 degrees for 30 minutes, and your crystals will be safe. Once your pieces have cooled, fix the powder with spray varnish.

Peel off your crystals, then fix them in place with rhinestone glue.

Pass the earring primers through the holes.
