Thread your beads onto the stainless steel nail. Take the round-tipped pliers and bend the nail 90° at the hole for the last bead.

With autumn just around the corner, it's time to share this Japandi styled wooden earring tutorial with you. For those who haven't yet heard of this trend, Japandi is a term that comes from the contraction of the word Japan and the word Scandinavian. Basically, it's a decorating trend that blends the warm style of Scandinavia with the minimalist style of Japan. But we've adapted this trend to jewelry-making!
Accessible to beginners, this simple tutorial will enable you to make a pair of earrings in under 15 minutes. Simply thread wooden beads onto a round-headed stud and add a small charm at the end. Hang this string of beads on a sleeper and you're done! For a slightly offbeat, on-trend look, we've reversed the string of pearls on the other stud to give the earrings an asymmetrical feel. If you'd like to change the small sunburst charm, it's possible. Find all our stainless steel charms on our website.
If you like to create jewelry in wood, we have several tutorials on the site that might appeal to you.

Thread your beads onto the stainless steel nail. Take the round-tipped pliers and bend the nail 90° at the hole for the last bead.

Cut the nail to within 8 mm of the last bead, using wire cutters. Stainless steel nails are easier to cut with shears.

Grab the end of the nail with the round pliers and form a loop by turning the pliers in the opposite direction to step 1. Before closing the loop on the stem, add the sunburst charm. Make sure the end of the loop touches the stem to prevent the charm from falling off.

Open the other nail loop with the round pliers and slide the sleeper ring through, then close the loop.
