How to decorate a festive table?
How to make a polymer clay place card?
We're continuing our "festive table" tutorial series... After the tutorial on how to make a resin knife-holder, we now bring you this tutorial on how to make a polymer clay place-marker. You can also find this tutorial in the "Ideas for entertaining" special issue of ADNMagazine (Atelier des Nanas).
Very easy to make, your place cards can be ready in just a few hours. This is the perfect way to create an original, personalized party table, even if you leave it to the last minute!
What's more, you don't need a lot of materials, and you can use elements straight out of nature! Isn't that great? You'll find the list of materials at the bottom of the tutorial page.
Are you a beginner? Check out our polymer clay technical sheets to learn more about how to work with polymer clay.
Here we go, giving you all the steps to follow.
The steps:
Step 1: Take some white polymer clay and roll it into a large ball. Roll it out on each side into a square. Trim the edges with a knife.

Step 2: Take your heart-shaped pick and press down to pierce the cube without piercing it.

Step 3: Bake your polymer clay in a conventional oven at 120 degrees for 30 minutes. Sand your cube under soapy water with a fine 800 or 1000 grit abrasive.

Step 4: Place a small amount of UV Led resin on one side of the cube, spreading it out with a toothpick or pointed object. Don't wait to place your flower, then cover it entirely with resin, right up to the edges of the face. Place your UV Led lamp on top and turn it on. Press twice to set. Turn your cube to make another face and so on.

And there you have it: your place marker matches the rest of your flower decoration! Now all you have to do is place it on your table to guide your guests ;)
And that's how our festive table looks in its entirety.
So, do you like it? If so, you just have to... ;) Don't worry, there's still a little time left.
