Cane sheet made of polymer clay

Learn how to make a sheet-shaped cane with polymer clay from a target cane. You'll see how to rework a simple cane to make it a more complex cane as we do here with a branch structure. You can use the polymer pasta brands that you prefer, be careful not to work with too soft dough otherwise you will have a hard time not to crush your pattern. The most popular pasta for canes is the professional Fimo and Kato Polyclay.

Step 1
Take 4 colors of polymer clay with 2 different greens, black and white but in smaller quantities. Prepare your pasta by rolling on a support to make 4 cylinders of the same length.

2nd step
Position your rolls side by side and roll the roll lengthwise. You can now put your plate in the widest dough machine by putting your different color stripes vertically, you must always respect this direction until you get your gradient. Go down 2 notches further end the setting of your machine, fold your plate in 2 then pass the fold first, do this operation fifteen times. You can tap this video to help you if you need.

Step 3
Cut a little dark part, save it. Divide your colored plate into 2 parts.

Step 4
Superimpose your 2 parts of plate, pass the roll to slightly weld them. Then pass it into the dough machine first wide notch, always in the vertical direction. Pass it a second time in the machine but this time at the finest notch for a long ribbon.

Step 5
Wrap the resulting ribbon starting with the light section to create a target cane.

Step 6
Work the dark part you reserved when cutting the plate. If you do not have many of them find the same color by mixing a little black with emerald green. Pass your dark green in the dough machine to a mean notch here the number 4 of Imperia.

Step 7
Cut your target cane into two parts, open the cane and place a piece of plaque inside, cut off the overhang and close your cane. Continue this way, you need to place seven dark green stripes.

Step 8
Cut the round streaked into 2 parts diagonally. Invert one of these parts by putting it in the other direction to have the stripes in the good sense. Before re-joining these 2 sides it is necessary to place again a strip of green plate but which is passed to the dough machine with the widest notch.

Step 9
Leave your cane round to lengthen it by doing a cane reduction, you can help yourself from this video .

Step 10
Extend your leaf cane until it is about 10 mm in diameter. Cut seven lengths of 2 cm into your cane. Pinch each end to get your leaf shape.

Step 11
Cut into the rest of the green plate a rectangle about 2 cm like the lengths of canes. Start building your cane branch and leaves.

Step 12
Work to fill all the interstices with rather hard black paste such as the Fimo professionnal. Your block of dough is about the same height as all our cane, it is quite easy to cut in this black block tips that can fill exactly the gaps. Also help small round pieces to take a tip in the forming duck and insert a sheet.

Step 13
Continue this work while going down and adding your leaves.

Step 14
Surround your pattern with a lot of black dough, try as much as possible to get a square shape.

Step 15
Wait until the next day to reduce the dough so that the dough is cool and not too soft to lengthen it without deforming it.
I advise you to keep pieces of canes with different dimensions to be able to have fun afterwards and to multiply your reasons.
