Resin paper ball with inclusion of dried flowers

Make an inclusion resin ball with dried flowers. You have 2 large silicone sphere molds with 2 different diameter to complete this project. you also have a wide selection of dried flowers .

Step 1
Make your epoxy resin mixture by mixing a dose of hardener with 2 doses of resin. Put in this order, 30 ml of hardener in a cup then add 60 ml of resin. Mix these 2 components and let stand about thirty minutes so the mixture will thicken a little and the bubbles will leave.

2nd step
Pour some of your resin mixture into the mold. The other part will serve you to soak the resin flowers before positioning them in the mold.

Première coulée de résine

Step 3
Place your dried flowers inside the mold. In the photo the flowers are placed with the head up, you have to do the opposite to not have flowers in the wrong direction. Help yourself with wooden sticks to hold your flowers while the resin picks up.

Step 4
Wait 2 days before you can remove the sticks. Close the mold with its upper part. Pour a new resin mixture by pouring it through the hole.

Deuxième coulée de résine

Step 5
You have to wait about 10 days to unmold your resin sphere. If you do not wait so long you risk clouding the ball. The resin ball is clear but marked in the center of a line of surplus resin, there is also a small dish that corresponds to the hole through which the mold was filled.

Démoulage

Step 6
Protect the ball by putting adhesive on the assembly leaving only the part of the horizontal line of the center and the small flat of the top without anything. Sand the parts off starting with 800 grit abrasive and 1000 grit with warm water. Continue by polishing with the full range of micro-mesh and always in water.

Protection pour le ponçage

Step 7
At the end of polishing there is a slight opaque film that must be removed by polishing your ball with a drum and flannel discs. For this last step you must use a yellow Dialux polishing paste.

Bonjour, je pense que c'est possible. Comme dans le tuto, prévoyez de le faire en plusieurs coulages car les pétales vont flotter.
