Make a sunny adornment in polymer clay with Flamingo, one of the 6 new colors in the Fimo range. Create your own pompons with our adapted yarns. Find out how to use Ceralun clay in this tutorial.

Layer your dough sheets, placing white dough under the Flamingo color and darker dough under the white. Roll to ensure no air is trapped between the layers of dough, then pass the whole assembly through the dough machine in a wider notch like number 5.

Prepare a new sheet of dough in the color of the widest notch. Tear small, irregular pieces from the other plate and place them on the blue plate, leaving spaces between the pieces. Work as if creating a mosaic.

Take a piece of baking paper, place it on the baking sheet and, using a rolling pin or a rolling pin, smooth it out in small circles.

Cut out your shapes with cookie cutters. For the plastron, take an 8 cm circle, cut a first circle and then, using the same cutter, cut the top part so that only a half-moon of about 3 cm remains at the widest point. For the earrings, use the 4 cm drop cutter.

Take the largest of your mini cookie cutters to make the holes. There are 7 on the bottom of the breastplate plus two more at the top for hanging. Three holes for each loop plus two smaller holes pierced with a needle for hanging. Bake the pieces in a 120-degree oven for 30 minutes.

First, sand with 800-grit abrasive in soapy water to trap any small particles you might inhale if polishing dry. Round corners and make small circles to avoid scratching the paste. Move on to 1000 grit, then use micro-mesh under running water to polish and shine your jewels.

From a spool of pompom yarn, take 6 arm lengths, i.e. about 6 meters. Double and fold in 2 until you get a length of about 7 cm.

Pass your set of wires through one of the holes. Cut another length of wire, about 1 m long, double it and then wrap the first wires, making several knots to hold them in place.

Wrap around several times, then secure with a double knot at the back of the pom-pom. Cut the threads at the bottom of the pom-pom.

Make the earring tassels. When everything is finished, you can fix the double knot on the back of the tassels with a drop of glue.

Pass a ring through each loop hole, then pass the ear stud ring through. Cut your cord in two parts. For the breastplate, pass the cords through the remaining holes and tie a knot. Cut the cords to the desired length, then use pliers to attach the cord ends. Thread a ring through each end, then a lobster clasp on one side.

Take the 2 sticks of white Ceralun paste. Mix the two components in equal proportions, twisting until the color becomes homogeneous and white. Protect yourself with gloves during this step, as Ceralun paste is a resin. Once mixed, you can remove your gloves to handle the paste.

Fill the backs of your cowrie shells with the resin mixture, then place them on your breastplate and curls. Wait until the next day to wear your ornament.
