Here we are in the middle of winter, and the cold is really making itself felt. Isn't it a wonderful time to stay at home and (re)start bead weaving? Today we're taking you to the Arctic with Karen from the blog Mon Petit Bazar! She's woven for you one of our most fascinating animals, the polar bear, which loves the cold! Christened Monsieur l'Ours, he wears a pretty scarf and matching hat, all in Miyuki Delica 11/0 beads.
This delightful Brick Stitch weaving activity will warm your heart and gently immerse you in the magic of the Christmas season. This tutorial is at an intermediate level, but if you're a beginner and want to know more about bead weaving and Brick Stitch in particular, don't panic! We invite you to take a closer look at some of our technical sheets before you get started, including How to start a Brick Stitch weave? and How to make a Brick Stitch weave with augmentation and reduction? With all our tips and tutorials, you'll become a bead weaving pro, and Brick Stitch diagrams won't scare you any more!
For this creation, Karen used Miyuki Delica 11/0 beads on black tones and used gold for the details of Mr Bear's hat and clothes. But create it as you like by choosing other colors. A little polar bear with a purple and red hat could be so cute, don't you think? And why not create several?
You can use this weaving to decorate your holiday tables, to impress your guests, or to give as gifts. Why not turn the bear into a beaded brooch , as shown in the photo below? This weave will add a festive and cute touch to your outfits, and everyone will want one!

Many thanks to Karen for sharing her pattern with us. Don't forget to download the pattern below.
We love seeing your creations so feel free to send us photos of your woven polar bear on Facebook or tag us on Instagram with #perlesandco!
