Fringed jewelry is the next big thing! What makes them so appealing? That light movement when you move your head, that delicate texture that catches the light, and above all that modern yet timeless look that goes with everything. In short, they're the kind of earrings that add pizzazz to any outfit. For this tutorial, we chose ultra-fine serpentine chains: they're supple, shimmer like a mirror, and when strung together, they create a truly elegant waterfall effect. The kind of jewelry you can wear for an evening out or every day.
This project is part of "Frangines", our special fringe DIY jewelry collection. We imagined it for the festive season and those moments when you want to feel luminous. On the program: earrings, necklaces, bracelets and bag jewelry. The idea is to play with light and movement for a truly festive look.
I chose stainless steel because it's the perfect material for this kind of project. It's hypoallergenic, so there's no risk of irritation, and it's water and weather resistant: your curls will keep their shine without you having to pamper them. And for fringed jewelry, it's ideal because it gives that fluidity and shine we're looking for. In short, you can wear them without a second thought, day after day.
In terms of difficulty, this isn't an ultra-beginner's project either: you need to be a little precise to cut the chains to the right length and hang the bangs evenly. But with a little patience and by following the steps one by one, it's quite doable. Whether you're just starting out or you're already used to creating jewelry, you'll be able to create a pair of creoles worthy of a boutique.
And don't hesitate to share your creations on Instagram, TikTok or Facebook @PerlesAndCo: we can't wait to see your versions!

Start by cutting lengths of chain between 10 and 9 cm using wire cutters.

Take your cord end and some clay, or clay that won't air-dry. Make a ball of clay and fix the end cap inside.
Pour a little glue inside and leave to dry for a few minutes (maximum 5 minutes).

Start filling the mouthpiece with your chain pieces. You'll be able to fit a maximum of 11.

In this case, I used a pair of round-tipped pliers, which enabled me to be more precise when placing the pieces in my mouthpiece.
Once all your pieces are in place, let the glue dry for 12 to 24 hours.

When everything is dry, attach the ring to the tip.

Then pass the creole through the ring and your earring is ready.
