Dear polymerists, here is a tutorial just for you! Indeed, the creative team at Perles & Co has been looking for new products and tests to offer hollow beads made of polymer clay and make beautiful costume jewelery.
Through this DIY, you are introduced to two new polymer techniques: how to make hollow beads in polymer clay and how to create a glass effect with translucent polymer clay and ink with alcohol.
If you are a follower of polymer clay, take a look at our other tutorials in this category, you will certainly crack for the making of jewelry or decorative objects!
STEP 1
Take a bar of translucent paste, flatten it under your fingers and then pass it in the dough machine. Start with the widest notch and go practically down to the finest (notch 7 of the Atlas machine or last but one of Imperia ). Collect with a 2mm, 4 round punch.

2ND STEP
Cover your cellulose balls with your 2 rounds. Smooth the junction delicately with your index finger.

STEP 3
With the broad side of a needle pierce your pearls on both sides by removing circles. Bake at 120 degrees for 30 minutes.

STEP 4
At the end of the oven, put your pearls in a tub of cold water. Take advantage to sand at 1000 grit surface. Leave them in the water for 10 minutes.

STEP 5
With tweezers remove the cellulose strips contained in the beads.

STEP 6
Soak a cotton swab with alcohol ink to color the inside of your pearls. Wait 5 minutes before moving on to the next step.

STEP 7
Varnish the inside and outside of your pearls with a thin layer well stretched.

STEP 8
Take 2 round head nails, open the loop and pass a sequin. Pass in the stem a cup and then go into the pearl. Add your second cup.

STEP 9
Cut your stalk length leaving 10 mm protruding. Reform your loop with a round-nose pliers. Pass in this loop that of the support of your earrings.
