In this DIY tutorial, learn how to use the Brickstitch weaving technique to make earrings with teardrop spacers, combining Miyuki seed beads and Pip glass beads. There are hundreds of different color combinations!
Step 1:
Tie a double knot in the hole of the spacer and thread 1 8/0 seed bead, 1 turquoise-green Pip bead, and another seed bead.

Thread the wire through the hole in the spacer and then through the hole in the last seed bead.

Pass the thread through the beads and the hole in the spacer several times to secure the assembly.

Step 2:
Thread 1 seed bead and pass the thread through the hole of the second seed bead in the opposite direction from where the thread exits that same bead. This is the same method used to start a brick stitch.

Step 3:
Attach a fourth seed bead using the same method and secure it to the center hole of the spacer. Feel free to pass the thread through the beads again to secure them.

Add 3 more seed beads using the method explained in Step 2. You should now have a total of 7 seed beads.

Attach the last bead to the third hole of the spacer. Bring the thread back out through the bottom of the spacer.

Step 4:
Add a pip bead and secure it with the last two seed beads. Bring the thread back out through the bottom of the second-to-last seed bead.

Thread a seed bead, slide the needle under the thread between beads #5 and #6 starting from the right, pull the thread slightly, pass the needle back through the bead you just threaded, and tighten. This is the brick stitch.

Continue weaving with 3 more seed beads.

Step 5:
Secure 2 pip beads on each side of the line by threading the string back through the beads. Bring the string out through the bottom of one of the two beads in the middle of the line.

Step 6:
Weave in one final seed bead using the brick stitch method explained in Step 4.

Thread the string through the center of the pompom and back through the last seed bead.

Thread it back through the assembly to tighten it.

Step 7:
Attach 2 new pip beads between the other 2 on each side by threading the wire back through the seed beads.

Step 8:
Glue the PureCrystal rhinestones in place using jewelry glue such as E-6000 or Hasulith.
