How to make a brick stitch Christmas tree?
With the festive season fast approaching, it's time to get down to preparations. Can't find inspiration for your creations? We've got the solution! For Perles and Co, as every year, it's a 100% DIY Christmas. This tutorial was created for ADN magazines. For the occasion, we've come up with three weaves to personalize your gifts: a pretty tree, a Christmas bauble and a shooting star. These Brick Stitch patterns are simple and won't take long to complete. They can be made by beginners, but we advise you to start with a video tutorial before you get started: you can refer to our Learn Brick Stitch weaving datasheet or, alternatively, to this brickstitch unicorn tutorial.
To make these three weavings, you'll need a few materials: extra-fine Miyuki beading needles and Miyuki Nylon Beading thread B 0.25 mm Gold or Fireline thread 0.10 mm, depending on your preferences. Choose your beads according to the weaving patterns you wish to make.
For the beaded Christmas tree and bauble, you'll need :
- Miyuki Delica 11/0 Opaque White beads x8g (DB-0200)
- Miyuki Delica 11/0 Galvanized Semi Mat Mead beads x8g (DB-1153)
- Miyuki Delica 11/0 Mat Opaque Sea Opal AB x 8g (DB-1595)
- Miyuki Delica 11/0 Opaque Antique Rose Luster x8g (DB-0210)
- Miyuki Delica 11/0 Metallic Royal Purple Gold Iris beads x8g (DB-1005)
And for the shooting star bead weaving pattern, only 4 of the 5 bead references are needed. You won't need the Antique Rose DB-0210 beads.
These weaves are in cool tones, but you can use other colors to personalize them, with more traditional tones like green and red for example. These creations are perfect for decorating guest gifts or napkin rings. You can also make them into brooches by gluing a brooch holder to the back. These bead-weaving marvels will amaze your loved ones.
