Tila beads are square, 5x5mm and have 2 parallel holes. They are the ideal base for all your geometric jewelry: cuff bracelets, structured pendants.
Half Tila beads are rectangular and measure 5x2.3mm (exactly half the size of a standard Tila). Their elongated format allows you to create staggered patterns, wave effects or sophisticated gradients. Perfect for adding movement to your creations or for creating elegant borders.

Yes, Tila beads are ideal for beginners! Their large size makes them easy to handle, and their 2 holes offer plenty of room for threading. Start with a simple elastic bracelet using standard Tila beads: it's quick and rewarding, before moving on to more complex weaving projects.
Store your Miyuki Tila beads in their original tube or in compartmentalized boxes, away from direct light, humidity and heat. Special finishes (Metallic, AB, Galvanized) are more fragile: avoid contact with perfumes, seawater or chemicals. Well-preserved, your beads will retain their beauty for years to come.
The difference lies in their size: standard Tila are square (5x5mm), Half Tila are rectangular and half the size (5x2.3mm), while Quarter Tila are even thinner (5x1.2mm). All have 2 parallel holes and the same 5mm width, making them totally compatible with each other.
The choice of wire depends on your project. For elastic bracelets, use 0.5mm or 0.8mm diameter elastic thread, depending on the desired thickness.
