WHAT IS CROCHET?

Crochet is a weaving technique, very similar to knitting, and it is also the name of the tool used to make this technique.
Neglected for a long time in favor of knitting needles, they are coming back in force. And yes, forget about grandma's doily! For a few years now, crochet has been a trend in fashion as well as in decoration. This little crocheted instrument will allow you to makeoriginal and unique DIY creations, such as stylish bags, decorative objects, baskets, clothes, cute amigurumi stuffed animals.

As for knitting, crochet also has its own technique. Learn in this video the differentbasic stitches of crochet, such as the chain or the bridle.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT CROCHET STITCHES?

There are many different stitches in crochet. We have chosen to show you in our video the most commonly used basic stitches.
If you are particularly interested in a particular stitch, you will be shown below the moment to find it:

  • Stitch in the air or chain (ml): 0:07
  • Cast on stitch (cs), the invisible stitch that is often used as a starting point for crocheting in the round: 0:47
  • Tight stitch(ms): 0:59
  • Bridle(br): 1:33
  • Half bridle(dbr): 2:15
  • Double Bridle(dlbr) : 3:00

For original creations, mix different kinds of knits. Do you know thestaggered fan pattern? It's a repetitive combination of loose stitches, tight stitches and bridles. With this stitch, you can make a nice scarf to keep warm in winter.

What equipment do I need to crochet? You need very little equipment to start. You need a pair ofscissors, atape measure, needles for finishing, pins, ahook andthread.

Hi, do you mean Lizbeth ? I think you can use the same size as 11/0 seed beads : size 40 with 1,25 mm crochet. That's what I saw on youtube videos. We have this tutorial : https://www.perlesandco.co.uk/tutorials/t32592-tuto-bracelet-spiral-hook-jonc.html I added subtitles with automatic translation for you.

Bonjour.

Cordialement.
