Tuck your knitting needle (you will only need one for now) under your arm, on your forearm or between your thighs. Leave a good length of yarn and tie a knot around the needle.

Orient the knot under the needle and place the threads on either side. On the left is the yarn from the ball of yarn and on the right is the loose end of the yarn.

Wrap the thread around your right index finger.

Stitch the needle through the loop of the right index finger.

Wrap the thread with your left hand around the needle.

Pass the loop of the index finger in front of the tip.

Remove the index finger when it is under the needle.

Pull the two strands loosely together to form a stitch. Congratulations! You have made your first stitch.

Repeat as many times as necessary to get the desired number of stitches. Once you have completed your row, start knitting.

Resume the noose

Place the slipknot on the needle in this direction: yarn tail to the left and ball to the right. Close it around the needle: this is your first stitch. Do not tighten the knot too much as the stitch should slide easily along the needle.

Take the yarn from the ball in your right hand, and hold the tail of the yarn on the left by pinching it between 2 fingers.

With your left thumb, lift the wire from behind

This way you form a loop where the thread hangs in front

Without changing the direction of the loop, without rotating it, place it on the needle, next to the first stitch, just after the tip.

With your right hand, pass the thread of the ball under the needle, from right to left

Then wrap this strand around the needle back up and over the needle to the right. This places a new strand on the needle, next to the loop previously made with the left hand.

Take this loop with your left hand, pull it over the new strand.

Then pass it to the end of the needle

The yarn of the ball remained in your right hand. Take up the thread tail on the left

Pull the yarns so that the knot formed by the crossing of the yarns is under the needle next to the slip knot. In order to position this new stitch next to the previous one, the existing stitch must not turn around the needle. To learn more about the mistakes to avoid during this manipulation, you can watch this video:

Push the 2 stitches slightly towards the back of the needle so that there is enough room between the last stitch and the tip of the needle to make a new stitch. If you didn't push too hard, the 2 stitches should slide along the needle.

To make another stitch, repeat step 12. Do this as many times as necessary to get the number of stitches you want. The row of stitches is finished
