Are you interested in buying a loom, but lost among all the available models? This video will help you make up your mind. We present 5 different pearl looms and their characteristics to help you choose your pearl loom.
This first-price loom offers a weaving length of just under 15 cm. This makes it ideal for making bracelets for a small wrist. When using the weaving tips + clasp system to finish your bracelet, the ideal is to weave the equivalent of your wrist size, or 1 cm less maximum. It will be too small for 15 cm wrists. It will tend to move and bang on the table with its metal frame. If you choose this model, put a cloth or folded tea towel underneath so that the noise doesn't bother you.
Choose this model if you've got a small wrist and want to try out bead weaving for less.
This is a loom equivalent to the first-price model, but a little larger and wider. It has a weaving length of 20 cm.
Choose this model if you find the first choice too small and simply want to try your hand at bead weaving.
This loom allows you to make much longer weaves. For example, you can make a choker necklace (with extension chain), as its weaving length is 26.5 cm. It's also stronger and more stable. You can adjust the loom length to the length of your bracelet, so you won't waste too much yarn. It still has the disadvantage of making noise, as the frame is made of metal.
Choose this beading loom if you want a good loom that offers you the possibility of making something other than bracelets.
This loom is stable and strong. It offers a weaving length of 18 cm. Because it's inclined, it's much more pleasant to use.
Choose this loom if you know you'll be making a lot of creations, and if you want an ergonomic loom.
This loom can make weaves up to 45 cm long. It can therefore be used to make two-turn necklaces and bracelets. On the other hand, it will waste quite a lot of thread length if you want to make a simple, classic bracelet on the loom.
Choose this loom if you intend to make necklaces and/or as a second loom.
Bead looms come in all shapes and sizes. Some have their own special features. For example, this loom is precisely adjustable in length, so you don't have to hide a lot of thread ends at the end, or this loom for elastic bracelets, which requires the use of special elastics. These looms are a little more difficult to get to grips with, as they operate differently. We'll introduce you to them in other videos.
