How to choose your pearls on the Internet ?

1 - General reminder on colors

Primary, secondary, tertiary colors.
Warm colors, cold colors.
Complementary colors

- Choose the colors of your jewel.

Preferred colors, choice, outfit in particular, trendy colors.
Associating complementary colors
Mixing some colors with a neutral tint like white or black.
Make a Camaieu
Definition Camaieu: (Painting where only one color is used with different tones.
This can be brighter, more pastel etc.)
Color gradient

Personally, when I choose my beads, I choose a dominant color or a neutral color,
I combine it with gold or silver and I select 1 to 3 other colors.

To find ideas for color combinations, you can be inspired by the latest ready-to-wear collections,
choose a fabric you like or even a painting or an illsutration.

You can also choose a bead of a color you like a lot and then look for other colors from it.

- Choosing the beads for your jewelry when it comes to different types of beads

Do not try to have the same color from one bead to another unless both forms of beads come from the same manufacturer and have the same color name.

It is best not to try to get the same color in another type of beads made by a different manufacturer such as for example,
beads by Puca and delica Miyuki. It is impossible to completely rely on the photos on the websites
for several reasons: The setting of the camera can create color variations, editing the photo can
change it, the screen on which you look at the photo can also change the colors.

You must therefore assume to take different colors even if they can remain in the same shade.

You can also choose different effects rather than taking beads with the same effects.
For example, matte glass and matte metallic beads go very well with the ceramic chalk effect.

- Choosing Miyuki beads for your jewelry
Among Miyuki beads, you will find different shapes of beads including delica and rocailles.
Miyuki uses numbers to identify the colors. If some numbers are the same between rocailles and delicas,
. Very often it is not the case. In this case, you can also rely on the name of the color.
Beware, from one batch to another, or the age of the beads, the colors can be slightly different even with the same number.
We have updated an article on our website with information about the colors, effects and durability of Miyuki beads.
I put the link in the video description.

To choose your beads, you can use the ideas proposed before. However, I have some personal tips to add.
Unless you want to make gradations of colors, choose very sharp colors, because once woven, the colors of delica tend to be less
sharp than in the bag. For example, if you weave white and bisque white side by side, you will see very little difference. When you want to
weave patterns, this can be a hassle. This is even more true if the beads are a little transparent, because they will tend to reflect the color next to
which they are woven.
So you must choose very different colors.

It is also very interesting to mix the effects and the different opacities of the beads in the weave. For example, you can take an opaque and matte
bead color for the base color of the design and combine it with transparent, shiny or with special effects like luminous. This will make your designs stand out even more
.
