Here you'll find a weaving chart to download and print out for designing your own Double Peyote and Double Brick Stitch patterns. All you have to do is color them in with colored pencils or felt-tip pens. These two weaving techniques, though different, ultimately have the same bead positioning. So it makes sense to use the same grid for both methods. The suggested grid is based on the proportions of Miyuki Delica 11/0 beads, but there's nothing to stop you using it for rocailles. It is not to scale, however. You can estimate the size of your creation by multiplying the height or width of a Delica by the number of Delicas. A Delica 11/0 bead measures 1.3 mm in height and 1.6 mm in diameter. Of course, the same applies to other pearls. The size of each type of pearl is indicated on the product page.
Are you new to these weaving techniques? Double Peyote and Double Brick Stitch are simply Peyote and Brick Stitch, where two beads are woven together instead of just one. Just consider the two beads aligned as a single bead, and voilà! You've mastered two new bead-weaving techniques! If you're new to Peyote and/or Brick Stitch, check out our articles on bead weaving in the Learn section.

How to design your own bead weaving patterns?
When you're just starting out, the easiest way is to use an existing base for the jewelry's outline. In other words, you can use one of our Perles & Co tutorials and copy a pattern onto your grid, but without the motif or design. For example, trace this outline with a black pen to delimit it. This will enable you to determine the size of your jewel. Indeed, when you're just starting out in pearl weave jewelry design, the hardest thing is to get your jewelry to fit, and this is sometimes difficult to visualize.
Next, choose your base color, if any, and the secondary colors of your future creation. We've created an article entitled Choosing your pearl colors, so don't hesitate to consult it. We also have Top 10 Miyuki color articles for each season.
Finally, take inspiration from clothes or home accessories you like to create your jewelry. You can take inspiration from patterns, colors or style. But be careful not to copy. There should be no direct resemblance to your original inspirations. And don't be tempted to simply copy and paste.
We also have printable charts for loom weaving and downloadable charts for Peyote and Brick Stitch simple.
