Place the magnifying glass on the image.

To use these magnifier cabochons is quite easy, but requires some technique.
Below we suggest two examples: one with an image
one with Liberty bias
We start using an image.
Material and advice:
You will need a magnifier cabochon, un image, one pendant setting.
In this example we use white gluelack, ideal because it remains transparent after drying.
We have also used the Sealant Nunn Design varnish, specially studied to protect the images sticked on a metallic base (the image and the colours do not alterate).
To avoid bubbles between the image and the cabochon, we advise you to spread the glue using a brush.
Step 1:
Position the cabochon on the image.
Step 2:
Design the shape of the cabochon with a pencil.
Step 3:
Cut the image following the line.
Check if the image suits the setting by putting it onto the setting.
Step 4:
Spread the glue with a brush in the setting (do not use too much glue or it might overflow).
Step 5:
Position the image into the setting.
Step 6:
Spread a bit of glue on the image, still using the brush.
Put the cabochon onto the image pressing to avoid bubbles.
If you want to use Liberty Bias, you will have to follow the same steps. The only difference will be that you will not have to add any glue on the ribbon,
because the fabrics have absorbed the glue spread on the setting.
Take a look a this ring made with Liberty bias.
Please find below a little list of the materials you can use with magnifier cabochons as well as adapted glues.
Liberty bias, polka dot bias, or any other fabrics (the thicker the fabrics, the more glue, and vice versa).
You can use Strass 244 glue or Strong glue G-S HYPO Ciment,
great because not very liquid, and do not leave traces on the cabochons.
The Vintage paper, and magazine paper.
You can use Strass 244 glue, Strong glue G-S HYPO Ciment, or Hasulith jewel glue.
Paper and journal paper.
You can use Hasulith jewel glue.
We advise you to spread it with a brush to avoid bubbles.
Photo paper and Origami paper.
You can use Hasulith jewel glue.
Just use a bit of glue and spread it well.
Never use strass 244 glue and Strong glue G-S HYPO Ciment with these materials, because they alterate the photos.

Place the magnifying glass on the image.

Draw a line with the pen following the contours of the cabochon.

Cut out the image following the line.
Make sure the image is the same size as the seam by placing it on top.

Spread the glue, using a brush, on the bottom of the crimp (be careful not to put too much glue to avoid the excess from dripping).

Place the image on the crimp. Then wait for the glue to dry.

Spread the varnish on the image, still using the brush.
Place the cabochon by pressing on it to prevent the formation of bubbles.
For the Liberty bias the method is the same except that it is not necessary to put varnish between the bias and the cabochon, because the glue soaks into the fabric.
