Sewing rhinestones is an accessible technique, ideal for personalizing garments, bags or textile accessories with a touch of sparkle.
To do so, choose rhinestones with sewing holes (often two or four) and attach them with a strong, matching or transparent thread. Use a fine needle suited to the fabric to avoid damaging it, and make discreet but firm stitches. It's advisable to double the thread and make several passes to ensure a good hold, especially if the textile is subject to heavy use (garment, handbag, etc.).
Sew-on rhinestones can be arranged in patterns or regular lines for a bright, graphic effect.
A round plasticine strass bead is made from a polymer clay base encrusted with shiny rhinestones. Lightweight and decorative, they are ideal for creating sparkling jewelry such as bracelets, necklaces or earrings. In particular, they are used to make shamballa bracelets! Available in a range of sizes and colors, these beads add a touch of sparkle to all your DIY projects.
At Perles&Co, we have a selection with Korean rhinestones and one with European rhinestones.
